Gratitude

Behind every little achievement, there are people whose love, kindness and encouragement make it possible. Historlogy may be my own little project, but I certainly wouldn’t have made it this far without the wonderful people who have supported me along the way.

Before anything else, I want to take a moment to thank the people who mean the absolute world to me.

To My Mum and Dad

First and foremost, I want to thank my parents, who have always encouraged my curiosity, supported my interests and allowed me to explore the things I genuinely love.

My dad is a cardiologist, and anyone who knows how demanding his profession is will understand just how busy his days can be. Between his responsibilities at the hospital and the countless hours he dedicates to caring for others, his time is incredibly precious. Yet somehow, despite everything on his plate, he always finds a little bit of that time for me.

Whether it’s listening to me enthusiastically explain something I’ve discovered, answering one of my endless questions or simply encouraging me to keep learning, he has always made me feel that my interests matter.

Dad, I know how hard you work, and I notice all the little things you do, even when you probably think I don’t. Thank you for always making room for me in your busy world. It means more than I could ever put into words.

And then there’s my mum.

My mum is currently fighting an illness, and watching someone you love go through something so difficult changes the way you appreciate even the smallest moments.

Despite everything she’s facing, she continues to be such an important source of love and inspiration in my life. Her strength, patience and determination remind me that courage doesn’t always have to be loud. Sometimes, it’s simply about carrying on, even when things aren’t easy.

Mum, I wish I could put into words just how much you mean to me. Thank you for every bit of love, every word of encouragement and every moment you’ve given me. I hope that one day, when you look through this website, you’ll smile knowing that a little piece of your love and encouragement is behind it.

To both of my parents: thank you for giving me the freedom to be curious, to dream, to ask questions and to become my own person.

You have taught me far more than any history book ever could, and no matter how many fascinating stories I discover, you’ll always be the most important part of mine.

To My Wonderful Teacher, Ms Ellinor Dahlstrøm

I would also like to dedicate a very special thank you to my wonderful teacher, Ms Ellinor Dahlstrøm, who has played such an important part in bringing Historlogy to life.

I’ve always been fascinated by history, geography and the stories behind the world we live in. However, having a head full of ideas and knowing how to turn them into something organised and meaningful are two rather different things!

That’s where Ms Dahlstrøm has been an enormous help.

She has kindly taken the time to help me fact-check the historical information you read throughout this website, making sure that the stories I share are as accurate and reliable as possible.

History is full of fascinating discoveries, but it’s also full of myths, misunderstandings and stories that have been repeated so often that people sometimes forget to question them. She’s helped me understand why it’s so important to look carefully at sources, examine different perspectives and distinguish historical evidence from legend.

Beyond that, she’s helped me organise my thoughts and turn my rather enthusiastic collection of ideas into something people can actually follow.

I have a habit of becoming completely absorbed in whatever I’m learning about, which usually means one question leads to another, and before I know it, I’ve wandered into an entirely different century!

Her patience and guidance have helped me bring some order to all that curiosity without losing the excitement that made me want to create Historlogy in the first place.

What I appreciate most is that she’s never made me feel that my questions are silly or my ideas are too ambitious. Instead, she’s encouraged me to keep asking, keep exploring and keep learning.

Ms Dahlstrøm, thank you for your kindness, patience, encouragement and all the time you’ve dedicated to helping me with this project.

I’m genuinely grateful for everything you’ve done, and I hope that whenever you visit Historlogy, you’ll feel proud knowing that you’ve played such a meaningful part in creating it.

A Final Little Thank You

Historlogy began with something quite simple: my love of discovering new things and my desire to share them with others.

But creating it has reminded me of something equally important.

Behind every achievement, no matter how small, there are often people who have encouraged us, believed in us and helped us along the way.

To my parents, thank you for being my greatest source of love and encouragement.

To Ms Dahlstrøm, thank you for helping me turn my curiosity into something I can share with the world.

And to everyone who has taken a moment to visit this website, thank you for being here.

History teaches us to remember the people who shaped the world. I think it’s just as important to remember the people who shape our own.

With all my love and gratitude,
The creator of Historlogy
